| Kick Multichannel Video Service
is a cost-effective choice for high-quality, one-way digital
transmission for audio and video signals. Kick Multi-channel
Video Service can handle multiple digital channels at
the same time and can transmit up to eight National Television
Systems Committee (NTSC) broadcast quality video signals
and up to four 20 kHz audio signals. Quality is also excellent
since the uncompressed digital format eliminates the signal
artifacts that can occur with compressed signals.
Multichannel Video Service is ideal for applications
that require simultaneous transport of multiple, superior-quality
digital channels, including:
|
- Uplinking multiple channels of programming to a
satellite uplinker.
- Off-track betting
- Distribution of news and programming content to
multiple locations
|
- Premises-to-premises
arrangement for 38 channels
- Premises-to-hub arrangement
to a designated Kick video hub for 48 channels.
To provide connectivity at a hub, Kick demodulates
the combined signals and connects each individual
signal to a port on a video switch.
|
| In addition to a choice of
configurations, four optional services may be added to
basic Multi-channel Video Service: |
- Switching: Video
switching arrangements offer network flexibility plus
an economical way to switch video signals rapidly
and remotely. The customer controls the configuration
by choosing destination ports and then selecting the
source port to be connected.
- Video Patch Arrangement:
Allows video switch customers to connect video switches
located in the same video hub. This then makes it
possible for them to switch video channels between
each other.
- Additional Audio Channels:
A third and fourth 15 kHz audio channel arrangement
is available for each video channel, provided separately.
- Distribution Amplifier:
Through the use of additional equipment, customers
can amplify one video channel to produce six identical
output signals
|
- Clear, reliable digital transmission without the
artifacts of compressed signals.
- Cost-effective connections for one-way transmission.
- Flexibility to configure the service to meet your
exact needs, point-to-point, or to a Kick hub for
further distribution.
