Description
Kick Digital Video Transport Services offer digital transmission with greater flexibility, quality, and reliability. Available in speeds of 45 Mbps and 19.39 Mbps these solutions make it easier for the broadcasters to meet FCC mandates for digital television transmission, while enabling post-production houses to meet their clients' growing range of digital requirements

Purpose
Kick DS 3 service is for transmitting and broadcasting video and audio signals between studios, as well as between studios and long distance providers. It is an ideal solution for remote transmitting of sports and special events, and offers the option of a having an on-premise video encoder or decoder (CODEC).

19.39 MBPS Service is used mainly for studio-to-transmitter links.

Functions

Kick DS 3 Service
KICK DS 3 Digital Video Transport Service is for transmitting and broadcasting video and audio signals between studios or between a studio and a long distance provider's Point of Presence (POP).


Service Description
  • One-way video is provisioned as point-to-point, single-channel service.
  • One to four audio channels are included with the video signal.
  • Optional on-premises video encoder or decoder (CODEC) for full-time service.
  • Special rates offer affordable solutions for part-time service needs.
  • Deployed with fiber-optic facilities with an electrical handoff at each end.
Standards
  • Infrastructure: American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
  • Transport & Digital Compression: National Television Standards Committee (NTSC) composite video signals

Kick 19.39 Mbps Service
Kick 19.39 Mbps Digital Video Transport Service is used mainly for studio-to-transmitter links.


Service Description
  • One-way video is provisioned as point-to-point, single-channel service.
  • Deployed with fiber-optic facilities with an electrical handoff at each end.
Standards
  • Transmission: over fiber optic facilities as defined in Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE) Standards 310 M.
  • Serial Digital Interface: for equipment conforming to the SMPTE and Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) digital television standard.
  • Electrical Interface: standard compressed broadcast digital stream
