Modular Video Transport is
a Kick service offering designed to meet the needs of
long term, ever-growing video customers. This service
allows the customer to design and customize their own
network to meet their application. There are some required
network elements to establish service (i.e. Equipment
Shelf with Optical Fiber Termination) and other optional
units for the various video interfaces (i.e. NTSC, ATV,
IF, or Component interface plug-ins).
This service can be designed to be one-way by ordering
only point-to-point, one-way components; or two-way by
ordering components in the opposite direction; or, even
a Video Ring design by interconnecting and ordering elements
in a ring architecture. The video quality of this service
may vary depending one the type of network interface (module)
the customer orders (i.e. Broadcast Quality NTSC 10 bit
video vs. Commercial Quality NTSC 8 bit transport). This
service can be provisioned with different architectures
and video qualities all on the same network.
