Peering Partner

Kick Communications is actively pursuing strategic peering relationships in an effort to provide our customers and the customers of our peers a greater Type of connectivity and service.

Conditions
Both parties agree to
  • Maintain a 7 x 24 NOC
  • Accept a maximum prefix length of 24 bits. Aggregation of routing information will be done where possible and technically feasible.
  • Accept all registered routes originated by each party, and those of customers who are not multi-homed.
  • Avoid re-announcement of accepted routes from other party (no transit).
  • Maintain interconnectivity capacity of at least T-1.
  • Reject RFC 1918, IANA reserved, loopback and swamp address spaces. Default-route should not be announced and will not be accepted by either party.
  • Peer in the country of origin and all other geographically dispersed location(s) in which both parties share a network footprint.
  • Honor MEDs when peering at geographically dispersed locations to aid in traffic localization.
  • Maintain a reasonable link capacity. If there is a need for capacity modification (more or less) both parties will agree on changes before they are implemented.
  • Not filter packets exchanged based on content.
  • Not monitor or capture packets exchanged, except under court order or as required for troubleshooting.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information about end users, including but not limited to their identities, and their usage of the Internet.
  • Agree to actively cooperate chasing security violations, denial of service attacks and similar incidents.
  • Not abuse the peering relationship. Examples: pointing default route, resetting next hop, selling or giving next hop to others, etc.
  • Notify the other of announcement changes.
Kick Communications will
  • Announce the same routes at every IXP unless a different strategy is agreed upon by both parties.
  • Not export internal routing protocols into BGP.
  • Dampen heavily any networks with /23 or smaller (according to RIPE's progressive flap-dampening policy).
  • Not provide transit services at this time.
  • Reserve the right to request private peering.
General understanding
  • Participation in this agreement is voluntary. This agreement is non-binding, and is implemented by each party on a best-effort basis.
  • No monetary settlements are required by this agreement.
  • Either party has the right to withdraw or change the peering policy at any time. 30 days notice of such withdrawal or changes will be given, in writing.
  • Exchange of routes will be performed using BGP4 or future recommendations of the IETF.
  • Routing policy will conform to RIPE 181 or future recommendations of the IETF.
  • Reasonable efforts will be taken to minimize the amount of route flap, or change in routes advertised.
If this is satisfactory, please submit the following information to info@kickcomm.com

The prefixes you will be advertising
  • Peering and 7x24 NOC contact information (Phone numbers, email addresses, etc.).
  • Country(s) of origin.
  • Other points of presence (IXP, etc.).
